The wild card: Norsk Golf Ranking. Was played over 18 holes in a club tournament at any sloped golfcourse in Norway. The top 5 players per handicap division on Norsk Golf Ranking qualified for the WGC Norwegian Final.
"We are trying a new way to qualify for World Golfers Championship. We are arranging regular qualifications and a ranking system at the same time. We think that this combination can open the doors to this tournament for every golfer in Norway. Since the golf clubs are spread over a huge area and it is impossible to play many qualifications, we believe this will be the way to go. It is a fantastic opportunity to compare your own playing ability with other players in the same hcp-category all over the country. We think this will be a big success in Norway"
Jorgen van Vuuren
